A Microsite is a lightweight website used as a page in your app that you build and is hosted on our platform. You use it when you do not have an existing URL or content for an Action. Maybe you need to produce a blog, a speaker's bio, or a landing page for a promotion. You can make any of the above in minutes with a Microsite.
Important: You must create the Microsite before you can create an Action that links to it.
It's drag-and-drop easy — no dev, no coding required.
Step 1: Launch the Microsite Builder
You launch the MicroSite builder is from the MicroSites library, which will list all of the MicroSite you create. MicroSites you create are not only listed here, but also available through the drop-down list when creating or editing an Action.
To launch the MicroSite builder, [+ Microsite] button.
Step 2: Enter your MicroSite Name
Pictured below is the starting point for the MicroSite builder. Give your Microsite a name so you can find it later, and add a description if you think you will need it.
Then move on to adding content to your new site.
Step 3: Add content to your MicroSite
The MicroSite is the end destination -- the end experience -- for someone interacting with your codes, tags, and beacons that use your MicroSite. You're building a small website (a landing page). Think of your MicroSite in Content Elements. There are four types of Elements:
You add them one at a time, move them up or down on the site, add as many as you want, and edit them any time. As you add them, they'll appear in the sample preview to the right.
Here's a screenflow of adding an image to a MicroSite.
Add all of the content elements you want. Edit content by tapping the green edit icon to the right of each content block. Remove blocks by tapping the red close icon.
To rearrange content blocks click the 3-bar icon to the left of the content block, then drag up or down.
Step 4: Preview and Save
The preview screen on the right is scrollable -- you can position your mouse over it and scroll up and down to get a sense of what your audience would experience.
Once you've added all your content elements and are happy with it, click "Preview and Save." Now you will see a preview of the Meta Information and your new MicroSite side-by-side. If everything looks good, you're ready to Publish. If not, go back to Edit Content.
Step 5: Create an Action using your MicroSite
To make your MicroSite accessible to people through your mobile website, QR code landing page, or app, then you just add it as an Action.
Add a new Action and choose the type "microsite" from the dropdown menu.
- Name the new Action (different Actions can use the same Microsite)
- Select the Microsite from the dropdown menu.
- Choose the Action metadata (i.e. Title, Description, and Image) in the normal way.
- Schedule the Action if appropriate, preview, save, and you are done.
