Disclaimer: Most of our users have no need for using BKON Configuration because our hardware comes pre-configured for the Physical Web and use with our Platform. However, if you would like to change your TouchPoint hardware's configuration, you may use this app to do so.
Here are a few quick tips to get you up and running quickly with BKON Config. You should have already set up and added your BKON brand beacons to your Platform account.
- After you download the BKON Configuration app (iOS / Android), first you will need to sign into the app using your BKON Platform credentials. Your credentials allow you to securely pair with your BKON brand beacons and adds an extra layer of security for our users.
- Once logged in, you will need to make sure that your beacon is in connectable mode by power cycling the beacon. With default the settings, our BKON beacons ship in Eddystone-URL, non-connectable mode as the default setting for our users' safety so you will need to force the beacon into connectable mode by power cycling the beacon. This is done by using the small screwdriver included with your BKON beacon and removing the four small screws and back plate then popping the batteries out and re-installing them which puts the beacon into connectable mode for 30 seconds.
The gif shows the user experience before and after power cycling a beacon which allows the BKON Config user time to pair with it and change the beacons settings.
Once paired with your beacon you are able to change various settings of the hardware but beware, changing some of the settings like the URL will affect how your Platform account functions. For more information about the fields available to edit, please see the BKON Configuration app user guide.
