Now that you've set up your BKON Platform account and added a few TouchPoints like Physical Web beacons or QR Codes or NFC tags, you're ready to start creating the content which you'd like them to show to your users so let's start by just changing the destination URL to something more interesting to our target audience.
- We do this by clicking on one of our TouchPoint ID's to bring up the TouchPoint editing page. When on the Edit page, just copy and paste your desired destination URL and the platform will show a preview of what the content will look like which is being generated from the destination URL's metadata which is defined in the <head> tags of your destination URL.
Our Platform allows this to be controlled without editing your destination URL but for now, we'll just use the default metadata content from our destination URL for this tutorial.
Some Physical Web-enabled browsers like Chrome and Nearby require secure destination websites that conform to the HTTPS standard. Again, the BKON Platform takes care of this for non-HTTPS destination URLs when using a CoverCard but for now, let's enter just a regular HTTP destination URL. The platform lets us know that we're not using a HTTPS URL but we can continue on and save. Now, our TouchPoint is broadcasting this new destination and showing the metadata content from this url.
- Let's see how the Platform handles a secure destination like a Twitter profile which does conform to the HTTPS standard.
Ahh, much better. We've selected a destination URL with a secure certificate which Twitter handles for us and we can leverage our existing social media efforts for our TouchPoint which might be a Physical Web beacon, QR code, or NFC tag.
