Now that you've set up your PHY Platform account and added a few TouchPoints like Physical Web beacons, you're ready to start picking the content which you'd like them to broadcast so let's start by just changing the destination url to something more interesting to our users.
- We do this by clicking on one of our TouchPoints to bring up the TouchPoint editing page. When on the Edit page, just copy and paste your desired destination url and the platform will show a preview of the content which is being pulled from the destination url's metadata. (You can change this content in the platform but right now, we'll just use the default metadata content from our destination URL for this tutorial.)
Some Physical Web-enabled browsers like Chrome and Nearby want users to secure their website so they choose to only show HTTPS destination url's. Again, the PHY Platform takes care of this but for now, let's look at how the platform handles just a regular HTTP destination url. Now, our beacon is broadcasting this new destination content and showing the metadata content from our destination url.
- Let's see how the PHY Platform handles a secure destination like a Twitter profile for our company.
Ahh, much better. We've selected a destination URL with a secure certificate which Twitter handles for us and we can leverage our existing social media efforts for our TouchPoint which might be a Physical Web beacon, qr code, or NFC tag.
