An HTML Action allows one to add a widget or embed into an app. It is a window into resources from another web site, and can be a video embed, an embed of a social channel, or a weather widget for example.
Example Youtube video embed:
To create an HTML Action, you add the HTML code from your widget source. You will typically get this from a widget library, a widget hosting service, or from a website that offers widgets. For example, Twitter and Facebook will allow you to create a custom widget to incorporate your social feed in your app.
Our platform runs the widget in an iframe, which is on by default. Some widgets will not operate properly in an iframe, so if you add the code and it does not work, then try removing the check to use the iframe.
You can select the background color for the embed window or let it default to the app's background color. You can also choose to add a Title to the window.
Please reference the "Embeds and Widgets" section of the FAQs for directions to specific embeds.
Data Tab
Select the"Pull from Data Tab"option to cause the Action to pull the embed code from the app's database, located in the app's Data tab. One reason to do this is so individual employees can add a calendar embed to a template digital business card.
Reference the Action Formatting and Controls FAQ for a refresher on the controls that are common to Actions.
