The Side Menu Action allows you to add a drop-down menu to the top of your app to give users convenient access to other Actions.
When added as a stand alone Action, the Side menu will "float" at the top of the screen and will retain its position as the user scrolls. Optionally, the Side menu may appear on the upper right or the upper left. Use the advanced settings to change the color of the background, icon, border, or text.
A stand-alone Side menu Action is page specific, which means it will only appear on the page with the Action. For example a subpage can have a different Side menu.
There is an option to have a Side menu appear on all pages in an app by adding it to a Navigation bar.
A Navigation Bar is persistent when enabled and will always appear at the top on an app, even when one navigates to other pages. One enables a Navigation bar in the Style Tab, and can add a Side menu there. When added to the Navigation bar, the Side menu will appear on all pages in the app inside the Navigation bar. Its Edit Module will appar as is shown below in a special section above the other actions. This is because the Nav Bar and its Side menu are universal.
Creating a Side Menu
Add the Actions that you want to appear in the menu.
As you add each Action, a corresponding position will appear above the Action selector. Edit this by choosing an appropriate Label and then choosing an optional icon if desired.
Rearrange the Actions with their drag handles to rearrange the elements in the menu.
Notes:
- When a Side menu is embedded in a Nav Bar, if you use the Advanced Style setting to change colors of the Side menu, it will also update the color style of the Nav Bar.
- When a Side is embedded in a Nav Bar, it will not be copied with other Actions when cloning or copying a template. It will copy over with the app's style.
- A Side Menu Action must be created before it can be added to the Nav Bar in the Style section. If it is displayed in the area above the action selector, it may be deleted from the Action section of the app.
- A Side menu may be used independent of a Nav Bar and may optionally be shown on the left or right. When used stand alone, a Side menu Edit Module will apear in the regular section for Actions.
